With the exception of PBS, my kiddos don't watch much TV.
That will, of course, change this weekend with the start of the 2010 Winter Olympics. This family is a definite fan of the opening-ceremonies, the medal count, and the chance to watch Olympic dreams come true. Come Friday, you'll find me on the couch with popcorn in hand. The whole neighborhood will hear my boys and I cheering for athletes from across the globe.
In preparation - today I raided the library's collection of
'Olympics' books. Already my seven year-old
is reading up on the sports he wants to watch.
My youngest and I hope to tackle the related
'Magic Tree House' book before the games are over.

Oh, how I love the opportunity to bring a big stack
of books home from the library! It's all the satisfaction
of a shopping-binge with none of the pain on my pocketbook.
Snuggled on the couch, my five-year old says,
"I really like it when you read me books!"
Me too, Son. Me too!
