It's been awhile since I posted a new book here -
but that doesn't mean we haven't been reading.
This past month we covered a lot of our old favorites.
I'll share one here as well as tell you about how
it led us to a new series to explore.

A great young-reader chapter book series is
Horrible Harry in Room 2b.
Harry is really not all that horrible, but he does
get into a lot of adventures with his classmates and friends.
It's the innocent stuff of 2nd and 3rd grade.
(Oh, how I love the innocence of the 2nd and 3rd grade. I want to bottle it!)

After my 2nd grader read all the Horrible Harry books,
he moved on to the Song Lee books.
(Song Lee is Harry's classmate and the nicest girl around,
which is exactly why Harry has a crush on her.
I'm hoping my boy always falls for the nice girl too!)

Then...my voracious reader finished off those books lickety-split and so now we've moved on to Herbie Jones.

Finding multiple series by a good author is always a good way to keep the shelves stocked. Suzy Kline certainly seems to know the 2nd grade perspective - which is no wonder as she taught elementary school for 25 years. Yeah Suzy!!
