Oh, how I love to share the books I once loved
with my own growing children!
With the works of Beverly Cleary high on the list, this summer my boys and I dived in to Henry & Ribsy. We loved it ... but then right in the very middle I had to do some fancy footwork (or mouth work, as it may be) as Henry boldly announces that there really is NO tooth fairy. Eeekkkkk!
(I understand this may border on overprotective mother, but my seven year old has yet to actually lose a tooth and I'll be darned if we're going to miss out on all that fun.)
So... to wrap up:
1). Enjoyed hearing of Henry and Ribsy 's adventures.
2). Skimmed over references to losing teeth.
3). Turned page quickly and pretend to cough while thinking of quick transition after having stopped reading mid-sentence.
4). Wish someone had warned me!
5). Passing on this info to you so that late night pillow-lifting may continue in peace and harmony.
PS: We plan to read the Ramona series next - Please send warnings if there are any spoiler alerts I should know of...
