We took our boys fishing again. I may be a city girl at heart, but it’s just a plain nice way to pass a sunny day. We headed out to Cascade Gateway Park (as I have posted before). This weekend’s highlight was both boys learning to cast for themselves. We didn’t get a single bite, but the casting and the reeling-in kept both boys busy and happy (and me grinning from ear to ear at their new found skills.)
Here’s the 411 on equipment:
1) Fishing Poles: My father bought poles for our boys’ last summer. I’m not sure where he found these treasures but the brand name is “Shakespheare Synergy.”
The design is ideal for little hands with a finger hook on the back side and a thumb ‘button’ on top for easy casting.
2) Worms: We dug a few wiggly worms from our own backyard, but have found night crawlers at both the Walmart on Turner Rd. and at the Sportsman Warehouse on S. Lancaster. If you know of another place to purchase this bait- let us know!
