There are times when you return to a place you knew as a child and when you see it through adult eyes you realize it was never that fabulous. Thankfully, that doesn’t happen if you return to The Enchanted Forest.
It’s been almost 30 years since I first visited this local theme park, but walking the storybook-lined paths with my 7 and 4 year olds I have to admit – all those slides are just as fun!
Our recent 6 hour visit was a perfect fit for our family. The place was almost empty on an early Sunday morning and so my family rode the slides, explored the Indian caves and had our picture taken with Abraham Lincoln all without a line. I told my husband, “It’s the magic kingdom without the merchandising!”
After a picnic lunch under the beautiful fir trees, we tried a few of the fancy, new park rides. My youngest played engineer on the kiddie train and my oldest rode his first ever big-kid ride: the log ride. Admission isn’t cheap, but it’s a great local destination for lasting childhood memories. Our family would certainly give it two thumbs up, a smile and three giggles!
