Mrs. D is a legend in Salem, OR -- Parents say her name in hushed reverence. Children look up to her with the awe usually held for Disney movie princesses. Any discussion about music classes among the mommy-grapevine in Salem eventually comes around to Johanna Dakopolos. Trust me folks: This is Early Child Music Experience 101.
My son and I have sung and danced at Mrs. D’s Little Music School for the last ten weeks. Classes aren’t cheap, but the quality is first rate. Classes are held in a darling music studio connected to her home. The fees include two music CDs and a music book. I’m thrilled to have had the chance to partake in such an experience before my sweetie grows any older. I’m not sure what music he’ll like in his teens, but for now we both happily sing “Ali Bali” at full volume when riding in the car.
